Our Founder Partner

Our Founder partner Mr. Udhay Chandran Nayar, is a Hospitality consultant, who is an easy-going, down to earth, practical person, with an endearing smile. Born and brought up in Chennai, Udhay Nayar completed his degree in catering from Asan Memorial College, Chennai in the year 1995. His first placement was with Taj Coromandel and he continued there for three years, which gave him the much needed, strong foundation required to be a hotelier par excellence.

He ventured into consultancy at a very young age, helping to set up restaurants. He had saved up a little and coupled with that, his friends financed him to enroll in ITM, Chennai and New Hampshire University, USA, to complete his Double MBA in marketing.

He had joined a North Indian restaurant, Sanjha Chulha, as a part-time manager along with pursuing his post-graduation. It was here that he truly learned the ropes of this business and realized his passion for it.
After his MBA, this restaurant was reluctant to let go of this enterprising youngster and made him a Director at the very young age of 24! He continued with this brand successfully till 2005.

He quit in the year 2005 to branch out into his passion for full-time consultancy. That was how 101 Concepts, the hospitality consultancy service was born.

Over the years, Udhay has consulted more than 10 Hotels down-south and over 50 units in the Hospitality industry consisting of Restaurants, Cafes, Bakeries, Resto Bars, Industrial Catering units, Club Kitchens, Cloud Kitchens, Kiosks, Office Canteens, Schools Mess and Hostels in Schools and Colleges.
He has advised various running Hospitality groups, in every stage of their business to serve them better. This made him realize the need to bring in vertical partners in each field, to serve the clients better in the years to come.
